Savour! Celebrates International Migrants Day With Western Union


The COVID-19 pandemic has presented many challenges for the migrant community. Locally, migrants in Singapore are facing growing insecurities as they battle different challenges such as the inability to return to their home country, financial insecurity and discrimination.

This year, Savour! commemorated International Migrants Day 2020 through a partnership with Western Union! From the 18th to 20th December 2020, the Savour! Team, together with Western Union, got up bright and early and headed down to help out at the 3 main recreation centres in Singapore, namely Kranji, Penjuru and Terusan Recreation centres. We set up the booths at each centre and prepared the snack and drink items to be distributed to the migrant workers.

Overall, the 3 day event was attended by more than 1,800 international migrant workers! Through supplying Western Union with and giving out 3,600 snacks and drinks to migrant workers, we hoped to express our gratitude and appreciation for them, as well as spread some festive cheer with Christmas just around the corner.


Western Union is a global leader in cross-border, cross-currency money movement and payments company that provides international migrants easier money transfer services back home. Savour! is thrilled to be a part of this event by partnering with Western Union to procure snacks and drinks for the migrant workers.


With a tight budget and 4-day lead time, Savour! was able to meet all new requests and successfully coordinate with the companies to procure suitable snacks and drinks at exclusive discounted prices. Where we delivered 200 snacks and drinks to each of the 3 centres before the event starts across all 3 days. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our suppliers like Calbee and Uncle Saba, Apollo, Marigold and Prestigio Delights for supplying us with the various snacks that consisted of a mix of regular, soon-to-expire and surplus food to make this event possible!
